Licensed psychologist based in Durham, NC providing psychotherapy related to reproductive stressors, events, and transitions. Areas of expertise include PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, and grief.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting.

I provide psychological assessment and psychotherapy to adults in North Carolina and throughout 42 PSYPACT affiliated states.

I specialize in evidence-based therapy for reproductive mental health, which can include, but is not limited to: mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, grief and loss in the process of family building, family building decision-making, adjustment to parenthood, hormonal and menstrual concerns, perimenopause, coping with stressful medical procedures or complications, and medical conditions impacting reproductive or sexual health.

Holding space for you during sensitive and transformative chapters of your life

Historically in our society, reproductive events, transitions, and decisions have been minimized and dismissed. Our society often views reproductive concerns as common and expected, which can lead to isolation and suffering in silence. This is human instinct, as it is more comfortable to try to think about reproductive events as joyful rather than to recognize that they can also be extremely painful.

I strive to be part of a culture shift in which our society moves from invalidation to community support. Something being common does not make it normal, and we have highly effective tools that can better support people. Therapy can be a catalyst for incredible change, both for individuals and in our communities.

I prioritize developing trusting working relationships with my clients and creating an open-hearted and collaborative space. I partner with my clients to explore what may be contributing to their distress, leverage their strengths, and create new sustainable patterns of change. My clients often report that our work has supported them in living with greater ease, meaning, and agency.

My work is centered in my belief in reproductive justice. I believe that all people should have bodily autonomy and access to safe environments in which to make choices around having (or not having) children and parenting them. Everyone is welcome in my practice, including but not limited to people that are part of communities that have experienced systemic violations of bodily autonomy (e.g., people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities). I recognize that many people, regardless of gender identity and gender expression, experience reproductive-health related events and medical conditions, pregnancy, and parenthood.
